Yep. And on a bright summer's day it meters more than that anyway.

I never use electronic shutter doing sports, but the shutter speeds in capturing action are out of the shutter shock range, say 1/60 to 1/200s, anyhow.

No wonder nobody does it. For the extra cost, it doesn't do anything electronic shutter or HSS already do better, Filmamigo, pros and prosumers have them already and beginners don't need them at all.
But you're talking me around to it with the viewpoint of being an eccentric difference from the mainstream brands, like the 43mm focal length. As Kai of DigitalRev would say, it would keep Pentax 'weird and wonderful.' :)

You can't possibly be giving this mad idea consideration, Wheatfield, you'd have to carry ND filters with you, Pentax would be laughed at by the other firms!
By the Sunny 16 rule, a focal plane shutter allows a f1.4 or f1.8 lens to shoot in sunlight. :D

Ok, if your argument isn't that it's commercial suicide to make such a product, it's your personal usage?
But I've seen few photos from you with flash. Would you really pay more for all your lenses to use some cheap non-HSS flash for just two more stops of usability? :)

But if you want to, you wouldn't be able to. You can't go any lower in ISO so you'd have to stop down affecting your depth of field or pack and reach for ND filters.
Leaf shutters are fine in a portrait studio where shutter speeds are irrelevant to the exposure, a lot of medium format lenses incorporated them.
No Canon, Nikon or Sony ILC bothers AFAIK.
My Ricoh GR II does have one, though.

I don't think they're worth it Filmamigo, the maximum shutterspeed is typically about 1/1000s.
Most people will want to shoot outdoors at some time.

Yeah, I think there's only two shutter manufacturers in the industry. Everyone buys from them.
The bigger the format, the bigger the shutter, the bigger the problem.
Biz-engineer points out because Pentax uses IBIS it can actually offset some of it, but obviously EFCS and Live View gets rid of it as well as mirror shock.
