The Andromeda galaxy and our Milky Way are on a collision course and are expected to impact one another in almost 4 billion years. Mind you, the stars are sufficiently spread out that the chance of actual solar collisions is thought to be minimal. As well, it is not known for sure if it will be a direct hit or a near miss.
