Very cool. Is it a double exposure? If so, how is such a thing possible using a digital camera?

Ryan_bien's centralized image of the young man appears to support Sunman's comment about a strong central foreground. This portrait demonstrates that the 15mm has artistic merit in the hands of an innovator like Ryan.

Fabulous composition. Stunning clarity. Best landscape image of 2023, so far.

Rondec's shots of sunrises interrupted by clouds are stunning. I especially like the sky photographed through the gate. This is a wonderful way to use the 15mm.

What a splendid shot. And the colours are the perfect backdrop for the Sunstar.

I checked out your Flickr site. Can you give me some tips on how to capture moving water? You do it well.

Have you tried the HDR in your camera? I have a K3 but have yet to experiment.

riseform,
This is an amazing capture. Here in BC's interior, we are doing what we can to conserve this species. Do you live near a grassland?

Thanks for the detailed reply. I am a big fan of my Pentax 10-17mm. I think brightseal nicely demonstrates what you are saying about aiming the 15mm skyward.

Is this a general truth for all wide angle lenses or something specific to the Pentax 15mm?

Thank you for suggesting the lens review section. I have been reading about my SMC MACRO-TAKUMAR 1:4/50 for the last hour. It is one of my favourite lenses, but I had no sense of its full potential until I viewed the albums posted by other owners.

A friend of mine just gave me a box full of Pentax equipment that her dad and late husband used. There are two or three versions of the 50mm, including one that is recessed. Never seen the recessed one before. I think it is a macro lens. Do you know anything about it?

A Kea? Haven't Googled it yet, but I'm guessing it's not a parrot.
The "old" version eh. That was my guess. Have you tried the HD?

That large bird with the wickedly hooked bill is how far away from you? Love it! And you used 1/500th of a second? Some chaps on another thread recommended this setting for birds. I'll try my luck tomorrow.
I'm assuming you bought the HD version of the 15mm. Any problems matching it with the K5?

Hi Jonathan Mac.
I checked out some of your other photos on Flickr. Loved the one of a daisy nestled between fox-tails. I think it's called White and Yellow.
It appears that you enjoy using older lenses on the K3. I do too. Have you tried the smc Pentax-A 1:2 50mm on your K3? This is my first lens (1980 K1000), and I had hoped it would result in some interesting photos. If you have any tips about using this lens or any of the older Pentax, Vivitar, etc lenses, I would be happy to hear them.
Cheers,
Loyd

Do you own any zoom lenses apart from the 20-40? I checked out your albums. You seem to be more into portraits than landscapes. I'm a "close-ups" person as well, but I often use a telephoto to achieve this. By the way, I love your close-up of the pig.
