Many thanks to everyone who participated in this challenge, it is officially closed. I will post the winners later today (after I check out the squealing noise in my wife's vehicle)

It qualifies, but where did you find the miniature cow? Thanks for the excuse to make a post so this thread shows up in search results again. Last day to get your entries in!

It's almost the mid-point of this challenge, please don't let the excellent entries so far prevent anyone else from entering. There was a challenge last year to show the perspective of overhead shots, a few years ago there was a challenge for unusual perspectives, but this challenge is more open, any example of putting perspective in a photo.

Definitely, your technique changed the perspective, which is probably how I should have described this challenge (instead of a long and difficult to understand definition from a dictionary). There is an art (or possibly it is a craft or skill) required to create a sense of perspective in a two dimensional photograph. This group certainly has the skill required and I am asking for examples of how they created a sense of perspective.

On this cold, dull and snowy day here, I was leaning towards a theme of sunlight, but it wasn't that long ago that StephenHampshire had Sun as an excellent challenge, so back to the drawing board. My Concise Oxford Dictionary defines perspective as "Art of delineating solid objects on plane surface so as to give same impression of relative positions, magnitudes, etc., as the actual objects do when viewed from particular point; picture so drawn; apparent relation between visible objects as to position, distance, etc.; (fig.) relation in which parts of subject are viewed by the mind; ...." A photograph, regardless of the medium it is displayed on, is a geometric plane; the last photo below is an example of showing a relationship between visible objects on the dimension of time, perspective isn't always visual. That photo was taken about 33 1/3 years ago.

This challenge will close on February 9th.

The fine print:

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to select and be the judge for the next week's challenge.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax/Ricoh (DSLR) camera can be used as well as P/S cameras.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.
