Those are some absolutely great tones.

---------- Post added 2021-10-09 at 14:06 ----------

This is from the dirt cheap MZ-5N I picked up the other month. Unfortunately the autofocus motor died about halfway through the roll, so I had to finish it as a manual focus camera.

I thought about going back with a longer lens & trying to retake this photo to remove the foreground, but in the end decided I liked the symmetry between the wires crossing the sky above & the streetcar tracks crossing the road in front.

Yep. While it was a clear sunny day, the flowers were in shade so it wasn't that bright. I think I was around f4 or so.

Thanks! Though the other dozen shots that are blurry would potentially argue it's not really cost effective.

I don't often try to take macros of insects on film; generally just results in too many wasted shots. But sometimes you have to go with he equipment you've got on you.

Yeah. It definitely is. Sometimes more visible than others.

IIRC I was given some spare gearing for it when I received it; I should look to see if I can find a repair manual for it.

Not shooting a whole lot lately. But here's at least one shot that turned out mostly how I expected.

Guessing there was the yellow-green filter on the lens, based on the sky & the leaves.

Some street photos that I'm finally getting around to going through, despite having been scanned shortly after they were originally developed. Taken of outdoor crowds during & immediately after the final game of the 2019 NBA Finals.

Shots 1 & 2 were with a Canon F-1 & an uncertain lens — likely a 50/1.4. Unsure on the emulsion of 1 though I'd wager probably HP5, but 2 was definitely Tri-X.

Shots 3 & 4 were with a Minolta AF-C I had shoved in my pocket when I went out. Not certain the emulsion either but my guess is probably the last of either my Efke KB50 or KB100. I miss Efke for the very classic look it gave but I certainly don't miss its ability to attract dust while drying.

I use this combo quite a lot. Perhaps even more than my Exakta, as much as I love that camera. The ability to have through the lens metering and a relatively bright viewfinder makes it so much easier.

Was going to comment on the grain, but I see you have already. I think I like this constant agitation look more, as the intermittent one produces grainy results even for Tri-X.

I bought a 100ft roll of UN54 last winter, fully intending to shoot it over the summer. I think we can all guess how that went. Still, it's one of my favourite films.

I don't have one. And, before you ask, I have never measured Foma & therefore can't saying about the accuracy of the published curves.

I don't have them handy at the moment, but with Foma it's generally been via the response curves in their published spec sheets.
