I tend to agree. APS-C still can play a role, especially in two fields. One could be the high speed, feature rich sports and wildlife photography. Here speed and reach are something that can be delivered also/especially in this sensor format. As size, weight and prize are not such a point for that some synergies with DFA lenses can be achieved, long tele/-zooms are large/heavy/expensive anyways.
The other area I see, and where my interests are focused on, is APS-C as a robust compact travel system. Here dedicated lenses, PLM but also something like the 20-40 limited with environmental protection are here, and could be extended, maybe even with some basic protection for the limiteds (but they make a good travel kit also without that). The 11-18* opens such a system to high quality allround use, thus a body based on the KP will still have a right on its own. I would have wished for astrotracer in it. Here new GNSS receivers might be something for an update. This could still be an attractive alternative to mirrorless systems and I would like to see it further in the development of the Pentax lineup.

I tend to agree and development in mobile sensors shows that there might be limits of physics to the efficiency of single sensels related to its size and full well capacity defining SNR but looking at the image at full output size other algorithms might use additional pixel density for oversampling or other computational approaches. just talking about accelerator...

It obviously translated/converted to "nicely below 15000 $"*, which is 50% more as the 645D which was below the magic 10k$.

I tend to disagree. I chose Pentax for their dedication to DSLRs, something they've repeatedly emphasized in recent interviews. I really don't need patronage on my choice, especially not in a forum dedicated to exactly this producer of DSLRs. If one of you is happy with his Sony, enjoy, you may tell it once, but after the third thread that is getting derailed because someone feels the need to be such a good person to tell all others what they are missing in his opinion it is getting an annoyance. I'm able to find this and much more information if I want, no need to push it, especially with some pathetic view of "wanting to make the brand better". Thanks for the understanding.
