I know how Americans like our 'Old Structures and Buildings' when they visit UKI -- well here in the County of ESSEX where I live we have an old 'Post' Mill and a little Village called 'Ingatestone' ( they have a Camera Club too ! ) --- I used my 'Gift' Rolleiflex 'T' with 16-on kit and 1998 dated Fuji Reala which after testing I found I could rate at 50 ASA, metered with a 1960's British Weston Master V and Incident Light. I home-Processed in C41. and scanned with Canon 9000F Mk II + Vuescan Pro + FastStone Image Viewer to correct colours.

i have been sent for free a load of 'slightly outdated' film 35mm and 120 by a good 'Flickr' friend so I have been trying to use some and chose one of my 'Classic Asahi Pentax M42 Cameras -- the 1961 S3 which I have renovated -- FILM was 2013 dated Agfa VISTA 200 'Made in Japan' so FUJI and I rated it at 200 ASA and home-processed in C41 and scanned with my 'Gift' Plustek OpticFilm 7200 from a Camera Club friend who bought the later 8200 i model for 20 Quids at a Car Boot Sale so gave me the 7200.

Had a July 2004 dated 'BOOTS 400' loaded for a while in the second Asahi Pentax Spotmatic-F from about 1974 donated to me .I home-processed the film in C41. Here i saw this on the gate of Brentwood Post Sorting Office yard. 105mm f2.8 Super-Takumar given with camera 1/500th @ f6.3 -- Neg was 'THIN' i think the 1/500th is not accurate, same as the 1/1000th.

Took Base-Plate off an MX not working and carefully lubricated the mass of cogs and levers with a minute amount of Sewing Machine Oil on a brush-- then carefully wound on an d it worked ! Now it winds on 'sweetly' but the Meter and Flash Synch still not working. I took it out loaded with a short length of outdated year 2000 kodak Gold 200 downrated and use a British 'Weston Master V' meter . I home-processed in C41 and gave a few seconds extra development. Negs scanned with a huge ' GREEN cast but I corrected in FastStone Image Viewer.

I don't think I have showed my 'test' results from my latest 'Gift' -- a PENTAX SF7 body It was from a kind Gent on The Pentax Forum UK -- I found some outdated 'Lloyds Pharmacy 200 ( AGFA) film in my fridge, never used so loaded a 2006 dated cassette and had to put some paper over the Cassette 'DX Code' so it would default to 100ASA. I processed the film myself in a C41 mix. I took these at Chelmsford in Essex, England at the annual Filipino Festival and along the bank of the River Colne close by.

Had an explore around the bank of the River Colne in Colchester, Essex ( England) with my 'Gift' Pentax SF-7 loaded with some 'test' 04/2004 dated 'Lloyds Pharmacy ( Agfa) 200 film I rated at 100ASA and processed myself in C41. All taken with a SMC Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 lens and I used the built-in flash for some.
It was near the annual Filipino Festival ground in Colchester.

I went out with my 1961 Asahi Pentax S3 that i got back from the Guy to whom I sold it over 40 years ago -- camera is now 56 years old -- I renewed the light seal strips but I got a bit of fogging on this home=processed film as the strip near camera back door had broken, so I had to renew it again. I used a 24 shot 07/2005 dated 'Tudor' ( Fuji) 100 rated 64ASA and metered with a British Weston Master V and some by 'Guesswork'

Skierd : Yes, I used 'Box Speed' when using FRESH Velvia 50 BUT all my Velvia 50 is outdated and given to me by a Camera Club member and it was not in a box so do not know exactly HOW OLD it was == on other tests with my LX I found 32 ASA was good so used that with the ME Super. Also, some Sensia 100 Mk II I found better at 80 ASA not 100 as 100 was too dark. I was given a Contax RTS II Quartz and a Yashica FR1 with various lenses and winders -- here is one from the Yashica FR1 with a 28mm f3.5 ML Yashinon lens , outdated Agfa Vista 200 which I rated at 125 ASA and had commercially processed and uploaded from a scan on CD -- I used a Sunpak auto 36 FD flash bounced off a white plate @ f4. It is 'Lechon' as Filipinos call it or 'Hog Roast' -- I went to a Filipino party for 1st Communion and the British Husband bought the PIg and dug a hole in his garden and roasted it- and we had Spring Rolls and Noodles etc !

Here are a few from the Birkenau camp -- we were taken in a mini-bus and there was a huge car park off a modern road that was not there in the 1940's -- our Guide explained it was a 'Sacred Place' it was certainly very creepy standing on the same earth platform by the railway track from where thousands arrived -- there were some 'modern' children playing on the railway tracks while their parents listened to their guide -- the innocence of Youth ----

Poland : Auschwitz 1 Concentration Camp. We were picked up in a mini-bus from Hotel with 6 others. the Security is STRICT on entering-- metal detectors-- I had to take off trouser belt and struggle through -- Driver said 'No large bags allowed' so had to leave Camera bag and stuff lenses in pockets then they all went through Security. We were put into groups of about 50 with different language speakers. Our guide rushed us through the 'Blocks' as so many people were there. I respected to request ' NO PHOTOS' in the room full of Human Hair or when we went into a Gas Chamber with the fake shower taps and holes for the Zyclon B pellets/ I managed to get some photos in showcases with flash but nothing in the cells -- too dark and crowded with visitors. I will show some of Camp 2 Birkenau soon. All PENTAX MZ-5 and 05/2008 dated Kodak Colorplus 200 rated 125 ASA-- The Infamous SIGN as we went into Camp 1

Kentwell Hall in Suffolk England was finished mostly in 1540 and is now the home of Patrick Phillips bought in 1971 -- almost a ruin but restored and hosts many 're-enactments' the most famous of which are those of 'Tudor Times' .. I organised a trip for members of Brentwood Photographic Club-- we had bright sunshine which made portraits difficult because of their hats and the contrast. I took my 1996 Pentax MZ-5 for colour neg and my 1984 Mamiya C220 for B&W. I used 'fill-in flash' where i could outside. Lenses were mostly a 35-80mm f4-5.6 SMC Pentax-F and a 24m f2.8 Carl Zeiss Jena and 135mm f3.5 SMC Pentax-M all on 2006 outdated Konica VX200 film I rated at 125ASA and had processed by BOOTS Brentwood High Street and I scanned the prints.

I have been trying some Kodak Ektar 25 about 30 years old I found in my Fridge -- I have taken some in my 1975 Asahi Pentax KX-- I did a first test and gave it 4 minutes in used C41 but negs were a bit weak so I gave second test 5 mins and negs were better -- scanned with a Blue colour cast but I corected in PhotoShop 7 as I would in the darkroom using colour filters in my enlarger.
