Ooh, I particularly love the horse. Great shot, and stellar B&W. Crisp and contrasty, but with no details lost.

Here are a couple of shots of my kids that worked better in b&w. The one of my daughter started as an attempt to salvage a bad exposure, but I decided it has something rather cool in b&w; the one of my son just felt as though it would work in b&w.

I discovered the "strength" slider for the colour filters on the B&W conversion in Lightzone. Bam! That made a difference; this was a bit bland before, but strengthening the red filter made it good:
