Ive always really liked my DA 50-200, but having recently got a KP it’s become even better. 8)

Also, I realised that I should really stop down - just to f8 at the long end - rather than leaving it wide-open as I had been doing.

Result, I reckon:

With reasonable light, the DA50-200 can do really well even with a moderate crop:

Oh. Lol. I will go and have a look ;)

Wow. They hated it, didn't they?

Imma go look at their review of the DA50-200 now xP

---------- Post added 22nd Mar 2015 at 02:47 PM ----------

Hahaha they hated that too. Ok it was the older version of the lens, not the WR I have, but I don't think optically it's different - and I totally disagree with their opinion on it in that regard.

Wow. Mental note to never rely on photozone.de for anything at all - so thanks for that. ;)

Having finished a month with my DA 50-200 ED WR, I'm pretty close to in love. Certainly I love the results, though the lens itself doesn't inspire the sort of feeling I get from say, either of my Takumar Bayonets (28/2.8 and 135/2.5). Anyhoo, here are some of those results, from my recent fortnight back home in New Zealand:

I reckon it can hold its own against much more expensive lenses.

Superb!

I've recently (Christmas...) got a DA 50-200 WR. Here's a lorikeet I x-posted to the K-30 thread:

And here, it withstood a huge crop, and shooting a small subject against a brightish sky, well enough that I could identify the bird (a square-tailed kite):

Oh, and I was surprised at how well the DA50-200 allowed me to capture this ugly little critter:
