Thank you. I'll see if I can find that book. I also found a squirrel forum this morning where I may be able to ask questions if I need to. I have a pair of thick, leather gloves to wear when I need to handle him. Problem is, those teeth could go through the glove. They are a little loose on me though, so when he does bite, he gets the glove and no skin. I don't handle him anymore than necessary. I don't want him to injure his foot worse, and I want him to feel safe.

Hi, guys. Great looking squirrels, as always. I've mentioned before we don't get a lot of squirrels at our house. We've started to see a few lately. Unfortunately, the cat has taken notice too. We had to save this little guy from the cat. His foot is injured, and he can't get up the tree. Trying to give him a safe place while he recovers. He's kind of scared and doesn't want to eat. I've had to give him peanut butter and water from a syringe the past two days. He has a buffet of cracked corn, peanuts, apples, and peanut butter in his cage. Hopefully, he will start eating on his own soon. As soon as he can get up a tree, I'll set him free in a cat-free zone.
Oh, and sorry for the quality. These are iPhone photos. My husband took the first one since I was holding the squirrel. ---------- Post added 04-24-17 at 07:51 AM ----------
Have a great vacation, Rupert!

Even if I can't get squirrels at my house, I can find them at my hubby's grandparents'. :) This one was not happy about me interrupting dinner time. web-0010 by Terry's Tina, on Flickr web-0013 by Terry's Tina, on Flickr

lol. Maybe they will just get used to the peanuts. Then when it's not a "new" treat they won't worry about thieves?

That's cute. :) Maybe once they get used to you putting out the peanuts they will hang around a little bit longer.

I suppose I could have a talk with him. Only problem is, Otis called me and said he couldn't get anywhere with the new chick. He said none of his old pick up lines were working; she told him they were lame. He needed some advice, and thought I could help him beef it up. Being the good friend I am, I helped him come up with some new pick up lines. I guess it was a bit too much?

Hello everyone. It's been a while, so thought I would drop in. You all have some great squirrels. For the 10(?) years. I've been in my home, we've had an odd lack of squirrels. Where we live you'd think we'd see a ton of them. However, my husband spotted a couple in a tree in the back half of the yard last week. Maybe there's hope. Unfortunately, there's also a hawk hanging around. So, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Rupert, my hubby and I had an old truck sitting at his parents' the last couple of years. We were waiting to get it fixed up for my son. Last weekend, we got out there and got it done. The guys popped the hood and found a squirrel's nest, a bunch of acorns, and chewed wires. I actually thought of you in that moment. Can you believe I forgot to take a picture- what was I thinking?
You all have some fine squirrel shots in here!

Lol. I have a box of newbie chickens I'm taking care of at the moment. Actually 6 of them in a rather large brooder.
I guess I need to make a visit to the lounge.

All these squirrel shots look great. I don't have any hanging out at my house and haven't had time to recruit any to model for me. But I enjoy seeing everyone else's.

I'm sure there are plenty of starving, orphan squirrels I could help.
Yes, this guy looks nice and healthy. Fat? No. He's pretty in the face...

In a way, I'm jealous. I hardly ever see a squirrel at my house. Weird, since we live way out in the country, with trees everywhere. Maybe they don't like my yard. They're definitely around here. On the other hand, maybe it's a good thing they don't hang out in my yard after all the stories I've heard of Otis' followers causing destruction and mayhem...
