I live in a high-rise on Wall Street in NYC, so I don't see a lot of exotic birds right around here ...
... but I'm very lucky to volunteer at a wild bird rehabilitation centre near Central Park, so I get to hold, feed and care for wild birds almost every week. (Sadly, most are injured or sick, but at least I get to help.)
This is what I encountered the other day, when I walked upstairs from main care room into the front reception (no need for a long lens):
