Good Morning All, I'm currently looking for lens hire in Christchurch or Canterbury area. Photo Warehouse do rentals but only in the Auckland branch. Hmmm. Now, I'm doing a wedding in a few weeks and have most of the gear I think I'll need ( 2 bodies, Tamron 17-50mm and Fa 77 1.8) but need a half decent longer zoom. Don't think my F 70-210 will cut it there and the noise is likely to scare a few wedding guests anyway. Any ideas folks? If any Christchurch-based forum members are willing, I would pay them for the careful use for one day.

The 35-70 I purchased on TM had a little fungus. Fortunately it was in the front element and was quite straightforward to remove and clean. Rear elements are a bit trickier with all manner of screws, aperture pins and the like. I came across this thread before cleaning the front elements.

I had the F 35-70mm and sold it far too soon. Thankfully I picked up a good copy and an F 70-210mm, which I think has similar optical qualities to the A version. $65 for the two on TM. They are both great lenses, though the focusing is almost explosive at times, especially on the 70-210mm. Great, bargain lenses you can't go wrong with.

Cheers fellas! I'm doing a wedding soon and needed the extra camera...well that was the excuse I made to myself and the better half indoors. .A Kr and K50..plus the aforementioned DA 50MM and a Tamron 17-50mm 2.8. Now I need a half decent zoom...the old FA 80-320mm won't cut it there...any suggestions? I'd love a DA 50-135 but they are, of course, pricey..I did see a Sigma 50-150mm 2.8 on ebay. They're a few years old, but get pretty good reviews. Anyway, I'll keep looking

Cheers Transit. No worries on that one as I have just put a wee order in with Adorama....First time buying abroad, but I have ordered a K50 body, DA 50MM 1.8, 32gb memory card and a Pentax flash for about $650 NZ. I'm pretty happy with that..

Transit, if you don't want the Tamron 90mm 2.8 for $200, I'm more than happy to help out...Just sayin'

Right on! Thanks for all that, fellow Kiwis. Can I say that, being a Glaswegian? Oh, what the hell, I've been here long enough to know the story. Transit, I'm gonna ask you a lot of questions after that post. Cheers and good luck

Hello Kiwi Geezers. Steve from Christchurch here. Just joined this forum and came across this and thought I'd say hello. Originally from Glasgow, but been lucky enough to live in this beautiful country for the last 10 years. New to DSLR photography, but picked up a Kr twin lens kit for a steal and thought I'd go for it...Hopefully get some tips around here..I need them!! Anyway, all the best for Shakeyville
