Thanks Chris. I always admire your shots.
I have not done a side by side comparison of the 560 and the 150-450 as I usually have one or the other for situational shooting. I bought the 150-450 for pelagic trips and traveling by air where the 560 can be too big or inconvenient. I had been using the 60-250 in those situations with and without the 1.4 TC, but wasn't satisfied with the results. I blame the hole in my wallet on vcollerp for posting initial shots with the 150-450 that blew me away.
My first instinct will always be to grab the 560 prime, but I don't necessarily feel cheated when out with the 150-450. I think it's a fantastic lens. The picture I posted in the 150-450 club wouldn't have looked much different if taken with the 560, but I got very close to that bird.

I've been favoring the 300 club as well when I post, but here's a little love for the 560 pages.
This one will be representing April for a 2016 calendar put out by a local printing company. |

Trying not to be redundant with the 300 club, here is a handheld shot of a short eared owl from New Years Day.
And a long eared owl from the tripod on New Years Eve. |

I have to plead a bit guilty here. I included my (favorite) shots more for the fact that I captured the scene than produced and achieved magazine quality sharpness. Most were stealthy, fleeting shots in heavy woods. I rarely get to shoot less than ISO 800 in the Pacific Northwest and I'm still a novice when it comes to processing. The learning curve, however, is an absolute joy.
Here is a beanbag shot from the year with better clarity, followed by a BIF shot two weeks ago on one of our (rare) clear sky days. |

A few of my favorites with the 560 this year. (previously posted, so please forgive the redundancy) |
