K3ii and FA 31
Striped skunk as winter approaches. Hostas have turned yellow and wilted. Turns out I have a pair living under my tool shed. Hopefully babies in spring! My dogs show interest, but thanks to skunk nocturnal hours no scented conflicts thus far. Camera trap with two Nikon SB28 flashes, Camtraptions PIR V3 sensor. Taken on a nice dry Halloween night. |

Yikes, your poor brother!
I was in bed when this was taken. I know the skunk has been living under my tool shed in the back yard the last few weeks, so I set up a camera trap overnight to get a picture.

Perhaps posting photos (K1 and FA 77) taken through three panes of a scratched Alaska Air window on a flight from Sacramento to Seattle isn't the best idea, but I thought these were interesting enough to share.
The first is a shot of the damaged Oroville dam spillway, which has recently made national news. After heavy storms, the (overflow) concrete spillway eroded and developed a huge defect, resulting in the precautionary evacuation of nearly 200K downstream people. Water was also flowing over the emergency spillway, just to the left of the eroding concrete spillway, for the first time in history. Surprisingly, the pilot of our flight didn't inform passengers that this was visible outside the window.
The second shot is a merged pano (about 5 shots) of Crater Lake, also taken through the airplane window. |
