Could be, I just bought the lens from an ebay seller. $15 in minty condition. 10 years old ? Twenty? I don't know. This was my first test of the thing. K Mount- It has an aperture ring, but no "A" setting. They had it listed as auto focus in one part of the listing, and manual in another. For $15 I did not care which. :)

Going old school all the way. I picked up and old manual lens ( JC Penney 28mm ) and put the camera in manual mode (green button metering) . Like the color, but not the sharpest lens in the world. This was about f 5.6 .. I was using the depth of field scale to set the focus because I just cant see to focus clearly with a 28mm lens. Anyway it was a pretty day here in New Jersey.

Just recently bought the 50mm 1.7 - least expensive Pentax lens. Took a walk yesterday morning to try it out. Here is a sample.

I have the two inexpensive kit zooms that cover 18-300 mm. I want to get a fast prime. Either the 35 f2.8 or the 50 f1.8 inexpensive sort of entry level Pentax primes will fit my meager budget. Any experience or comments on which one is better as in will get the most use? I read the reviews on this site and it seems both perform well for the price point. I mostly shoot landscapes and nature, so the 35 seems logical, but the 50 is faster. Thoughts?

I remember an interviewer asking Ansel Adams what percentage of his "shots" were keepers. "All of them" was his reply. I think he meant that the photograph was made in his minds eye before he ever clicked a shutter.

I wonder, with all the digital processing that can be done after the shot is taken, whether the old "legacy" equipment really has much benefit. Except that of course a new lens of equal quality would cost ten times as much. Or more. I bought an old 135 super takumar on ebay the other day for $24 shipped.

This is a bit grainy but I like the color, at asa 1600 I think. Kit lens. "Jasper" , adopted just this afternoon, is now the master of all he surveys. ---------- Post added 04-17-15 at 10:14 PM ----------
I like shots with nature contrasted with man made......
