Last weekend I attended the local fest with a crowd of photographers probably bigger than number of total participants. Canons, Nikons, Sonys... No Pentax.
The one guy asked me what camera do I have, I showed him Pentax sign, and he gave me strange long look... :D
I felt myself like Cinderella there not fitting into that kind of sophisticated fansy-shmancy "pro" crowd. :D And I have to admit I liked that.

Nope, I attended the wrong class with novices. :) Some of them already got expensive gear, and were proud like kids. I was a bit surprised that they brought telephoto lenses in class to explore flash in classroom. I choose 50mm just in case. It was no case to practice however, and the instructor has been following the book chapter. The manual is much better. Well, it was free... :D

I met Canon fan tonight at the park. I've pushing my Pentax limits trying to get flying birds at late sunset :). He was fishing near, and commented my efforts obviously showing that he is knowledgeable. I asked what camera he has, and he told he used to have, not any more. I told that I'm just messing around with settings, and then he told if I buy Canon, I will be blown away with it.
Well, I told that I do have Canon, and actually think about getting rid of it and stay with Pentax only.
He gave me kind of look.... You know that look, right? :D

Is not true for almost all brand DSLR-s? The video mode is kind of "secondary". Video cameras are for serious video recording, I guess. Video on DSLR-s is more for occasions. Therefore I have not touched video mode on both my cameras. No need.

There is no K-30 at Target any more, only K-50. The guy told that K-30 have been discontinued.
The camera is much better "in person" than online. What seems to be cheap colorful plastic on photos is solid weather proof body. I put memory card in the camera to test it and to check samples at home.
Same soft shutter release as on K200D (love it!) , live view is not bad, and burst mode seems faster than on my Canon SL1. Kit lens is not bad either.
But I want K-5 :)
Too sad that it seems I can tell the salesperson more about Pentax than he could tell me.

I'm going to Target tomorrow. To see Pentax at the store- can't believe in that. There are K30 and K50 listed on Target site.
