I agree, that's why I switched to Pentax to use old lenses on DSLR. :)
I do keep M42 Vivitar 20mm, love that lens, but have problem focusing manually in VF with wide lens when using that range for something else than landscape.

Don't ask why I have not done that before opening this thread :) Today I took out my old non working Spotmatic, and checked Vivitar 20mm on it. Omg, it's wide, it also looks beautiful on FF frame.
35mm is suddenly wide as well, and 70mm is more like something 40-ish mm.
No more new lenses till I test all my collection on FF. It will take time to adjust.

I did not have luck to find that lens, only DC (for cropped format), but never for FF. It's a great lens, although it's a bit back focusing on my K5iis wide open (not in LV).

Steve, yep, you are right, for someone who did not test wide lenses (and ultra wide as well) on FF, it's a bit premature to shop for that range. :)
Here is the one lens, cheap/great F35-70mm macro I can't wait to test on FF. It should be brighter.

Well, searching wide lenses is more difficult than other range. Perhaps that's because I'm not really good with that range.
So far, 15-30mm seems like very convenient for landscape, for walk around, and for indoors. The only drawback is price. :)
The cheaper solution will be just to buy 15mm ltd for cropped camera and be happy with it. Damn,it's always about money... :D That means I have to wait, get K-1, try all FF lenses I have to "feel" it on original format, and then decide after coming back to all this list you, guys, gave here.

I checked this lens on FF on flickr. Yes! That's exactly what I want 14mm range on FF. So, I can narrow search around 14-20mm, or go for 14mm prime.
Distortion can be corrected.

My 28-35 for now is covered, but I probably will shop for that range later as well.
As for M20mmf4, it does look interesting, but a pricey for MF lens. Interesting why.
My similar Vivitar was between 60 and 70 dollars, it's strong and comfortable heavy, with 82mm thread, and extremely close focusing ability. If M20 would be cheaper it would be fun to have that MF lens as well. |

The new one will cost $$$$$ :)
I'd like to hear about older glass, from film AF and non AF era, and some old digital era as well.

Preordering or not, but I will get K-1, and I realized that I don't have any wide lens for it, only old M45 Vivitar 20mm f3.8. It's a great lens, but adding wide AF would be a plus.
I really did not pay attention to wide lens selection, except I wanted DA15mm ltd, now it's not the priority :)
Any recommendations for any AF generation wide lenses, primes or zooms for FF?
