Somehow I thought it's based not only on comparison algorithms, but also on trace of downloads. :D
I have an excuse, never bothered to get into this subject before.

If it's for preventing stealing, I don't think it will be effective because anyone who wants to do that can simply register here and get an access to pictures.

I'm not. There are lots of unregistered users, or surfers. To close all database examples, lens and camera clubs pictures for them?

I agree. The point was to understand how tineye.com detects pictures. Seems to me it's not reliable source for similar pictures aka geographic sites.

I'm not sure it's much popular, and the windows were photoshoped for sure (because they do look like on my picture in reality).
The crop is questionable because who else will crop that picture so terribly like I did :D It was time when I just got my first DSLR.

Anyway, it seems impossible to detect for sure very similar pictures. So, it's pretty safe to steal. :)

I uploaded my old picture from 2013 on tineye.com, and found it used.
Here is my image, and the link on the site.

Old San Juan, Puerto Rico | PhotosPR.com

My question is how is tineye.com is accurate? The sizes of images are different, mine was smaller, but 300dpi. Is it really my image has been used?
