Good you like it.
I started this thread (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/general-talk/165066-who-takuma-kajiwara.html#post1709183) to discuss who he was and get help to dig into his background, career, relation to Pentax/AOCo etc. That's not where I want you to start posting your current photo's with Takumar lenses, but I though it could interest some of you.
If we want to somehow celebrate his birthday, I think perhaps the Takumar club would be the best thread? But to get everyone attention, we should maybe post something saying "The Takumar club celebrates Mr. Takuma Kajiwara's birthday on November 15 with...", and direct people here. Might attract some people with Tak's that haven't previously posted here. But I don't want to start anything against the will of the club OP.

It is somewhat out of the topic of this thread, sorry, but I though that we might try some extracurricular Takumar activity on the 15th of November. It happens to be the birth-day of Takuma Kajiwara...
Perhaps trying to maximize the number of posts with pictures of and by Takumar lenses, or making a special birthday-thread?

Some shots with the Auto-Takumar35mm f2.3.
And some reward for the frozen street-shooter.
The lens is smaller than I thought. The large front element give an impression that it should be a heavy lens, but it isn't. Don't have the original front cap and shade yet, but found some decent replacements in my boxes.

Shorter close focus distance, so they must have tweaked the optical formula a bit between the SMC Takumar and the SMC Pentax. And it will work in auto mode (apperture priority) on my K2 and later cameras. For the right price, I'll get one.

Well, I've got the S-T 35/3.5 and the SMC-T 35/2, and I've been looking for the K35/3.5 for ages, but this time I was specifically thinking of A-T wide angles that would match my black SV. And they didn't do anything wider than 35mm back then, did they? So you think the f2.3 is better? I've heard it was something of an achievement back when it was new. What about flare? With that big front lens and no SMC? Is there a good hood? You may not think so if you look at my gear list, but I'm not (considering me) a collector, I use them all, so functionallity is important. Besides speed, what is its good sides compared to the f3.5? Perhaps I need both:)

What about the auto-takumar 35/2.3? Which is the best of these two?

Got this little beauty in my hands a while ago for much less than it would go on ebay. It looks like its been hardly ever used. Posted it before in the 135mm club, if you think you have seen it before.
Now I only need a wide angle to my SV to have a minima pre-spotmatic kit (?wide, 55mm, 135mm). Any recomendations?

Before x-mas I run a Fujicolor 800ISO through my Spotmatic II. Lenses in the bag were the Super Takumar 24mm f2.8, the SMC Takumar 35mm f2.0 and the Super Takumar 105mm f2.8.
It is nice to use these lenses on a Spotmatic on film in 24x36 format rather than the cropped DSLR. But I wish I had a split prisma in the Spotmatic for the focusing.

Like them better in BW, but I usually do with street shots. You should post these also on Javiers street shooting thread.

Indeed very impressive. But considering that you usually takes good portraits with any lens, it can't all be because of the lens...

You know, I just got one of those lenses (well 1.8 version) on a black SV for nothing almost. Just waiting for a light meter. You just made me motivated to try it out on the DSLR. Very nice shot...do you play the guitarr also?
