Inquisitive juvenile Grey Shrike-thrush (which is neither shrike nor thrush, but was named for its superficial resemblance to these families). K-S2 + DA 18-135, recently reprocessed with DxO LP5 and Nik Color Efex Pro.

Storm approaching Walkerville, Victoria. K-S2 + DA 18-135. I was on the beach when the storm rolled in. No tripod to hand, so I tried for the slowest shutter I thought would be viable hand-held (1/4th sec), took a few shots, then Bingo!

Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo. K-S2 + DA L 55-300mm f4-5.8. (recently reprocessed with PL5 and Nik Color Efex Pro).
(One thing I notice about the K-S2 is that the Auto White Balance gets it wrong more than my other cameras do. I guess the KP, K-3 etc have more sophisticated metering. This image was far too magenta and too cool; it came alive when I fixed the WB.)

Many thanks Michael. With the B&W ones, it was a bit counter-intuitive, because there was a rich mix of colours in the scene and a balance of warm and cool. But I liked the monochrome versions better - plenty of texture, contrast and detail. (The 16-85 is very good for this.) I think I will try more monochrome landscapes in future.

Yes I agree that it does really rich colours CR. it's a pity Pentax only used that sensor in those two models and that neither had 14 bit RAW. Mind you, the KP does very good colours too.

That's a lovely image Ilias, but rather than just posting a link to Flick it's best to paste the picture into the post - more people will see it that way. To do that, on the image in Flickr, click the Share post button (the arrow pointing right), select BB Code, select the size in the dropdown box (PF prefers no more than 1024 on the long side), then copy the code from the box (at least between and including the first url tags).
