Thanks very much Chris. I processed others in the series in colour and some of them are good too. But I can't decide whether to post any of those as well. The B&W versions did seem to stand out to me. I liked both of these too, but Flickr has spoken - the first one got Explored today.
I always find this scene hypnotic. The dots are plastic-wrapped hay bales (the Swiss-roll type). The hills in the background are Wilson's Promontory, which is one of the most beautiful national parks in Victoria.
That's a really nice composition. Plus the gold on the sail edge (pardon my landlubber-speak) gives a pleasing cool-warm balance. You could probably increase the contrast and vibrancy a bit if you feel like it.

Thanks Chris and Hans. The humble plastic fantastic is good for this sort of landscape - very good resolution - and the K-S2 produces lovely colours. For a budget combination it's really good.

Thank you Hans. Yes ultrawide (UWA) lenses are very good for big skies.The DA 12-24 is a very nice lens, with good colours and contrast, but like most UWAs it is susceptible to flare at the wide end. I also have the DA 15 Ltd and it is much more resistant to flare. It's another to consider - it's so compact, lightweight and pocketable that it comes with me almost everywhere and the images have wonderful "punch". At the other end of the spectrum, for corner-to-corner resolution, supreme construction and optical performance and weather resistance, the new DA*11-18 f2.8 is the one to get - provided you can afford the hefty price, and don't care about the weight.
Sorry this isn't helping your LBA!

Thanks Steve. Cirrus is underrated! I like the way the swirls kinda matched the curves of the rocks. Contrasting textures, reminiscent shapes.
