Dramatic image. Washington state must be one of the most geographically diverse in the union, with everything from deserts to savannah to glaciers to rainforest.

Storm approaching the lighthouse at Wilsons Promontory (from a boat trip in 2018). This rather remote place is the southernmost point of the Australian mainland.* K-3 + DA 55-300 PLM.
* Tasmanians will regard this as a rather unimpressive claim to fame, because all of Tasmania is further south, starting with rocky islets just south of the Prom.

Winter storm. Corner Inlet and Wilson's Promontory, Victoria, Australia. KP + DA 55-300 PLM (at 63mm); 13 horizontal images stitched in ICE. (Click through to Flickr for a larger view)
The previous week in August we had the first snowfall here in 15 years.
This won't mean much to those of you from cooler climates but it was very unusual here.

Very atmospheric, in every sense. The masterstroke is the perspective from low to the ground. A plonker like me would have just taken it at waist level or eye level. That's the difference with a real photographer's eye.

Same day, same storm! Two Pentaxians, less than 20kms apart. What are the chance of that? Like getting struck twice by lightning!
Great shot, well done.

Went for a beach walk at Walkerville and a storm rolled in, with some lightning. Didn't have my tripod, so I went for a wide-ish angle and the longest exposure I thought I could manage handheld, 1/4th second. Fired a series of about 10 or 12 shots, then bingo! K-S2 and DA 18-135. |

Around here they say it rains 9 months of the year and the rain drips off the trees the other three.
The photo was more graphic because the spouting was overflowing! Too much time on photos and not enough on home maintenance. Well that's what I get told. ;-)
When the going gets tough - shoot Pentax.
