Here is shot of my Beagle on the trail on something. Rather than tossing the frame I decided to try something creative. I like the overall look but next time I'll try to get a better capture to work with.

My black lab yesterday lamenting the fact that even though the sun is out the temperature outside was around -10F.

Here is a quick snap I was able to get when our friend's baby girl had sat down with our beagle. She love both of our dogs and they let her poke, prod, grab and pull on them without any problems.
Our lab Max is large and strong enough to drag some of the younger kids in the neighborhood around our yard as well... though I have yet to capture that in an image.

I still have issues with taking pictures of my black lab. I typically fiddle around in manual taking a couple shots at -1 EV or so to not blow out the rest of the frame. Would taking a bracketed exposure help with this? What setup do you usually use when taking pictures of your dog?

How do dogs keep cool on a hot summer day in a yard with no trees? They improvise!
Last one had some PP in order to bring out Max from the shade he had found for himself. Hopefully by next week our new deck will be up and they will have a 14x14 patch of shade available in the back yard for them to lounge in when it gets too hot.

another shot of my beagle with my A50 1:2. With this lens I have an easier time getting the right exposure with my beagle than I do with my black lab. I love them both to bits but my lack of skill is reducing the number of keepers I have of my lab :(

Thanks! I'm not sure if it is so much boredom as it is annoyance. I had just finished using a shedding blade on him for the last few minutes and I had poked him with it to get his attention towards the camera :) Since I am still getting used to the manual focusing I haven't quite figured out how to capture my lab in his usual state... running around. Most of them to date turn out like this:
I'll get it right one day. Hopefully sooner rather than later :)

I finally got my camera back this week and have been taking pictures with my A50 1:2 lens. So I'm doing a lot of shooting in M mode to learn what my camera is capable of. So here are a couple of my dogs out in the back yard shot in M mode:

My mother-in-law's dog doesn't like the heater vent on the floor between the kitchen and the living room so he jumps over it as he goes between the two room :D

A couple more Max (Black Lab) and Bailey (Beagle). I am having a devil of a time trying to reign in the shine coming off of Max's coat. Any suggestions?

Tell me about it. He loves to play with his little sister for hours then will chill on the floor or on the couch in an almost boneless manner. Ah the life of a dog. Coincidentally most of my first pictures I took with my new K100D Super were of my dogs. They make great subjects as i learn the ins and outs of the new kit.
