I paid $100 for it..dont really want to return it because it's the first verion which has the 1:1 ratio instead of 1:2...kinda hard to find for that much money

So..just got another lens in the mail but I think this one has fungus or hazing towards the rear element..sorry the picture isnt that good its taken with my iphone 5...anyway, when i really look through it, it looks like a white webby kinda thing, but only on the surface of the element..i cant use it to check image quality because i dont have my dslr..so..is it fungus or hazing? And should I send it to Eric to get it CLA'd?

It said a couple light scratches on the front element but they werent visible in the pictures of the lens. But anyway, i'm keeping this gem for landscape shots since its not very fish-eye-y in a crop sensor

And also the scratches arent that big/deep..they just bug me a little bit when i look at it haha

Okay great, thanks for the feedback, i'll keep the lens seeing as they normally sell for $350+ Because other than this tiny scratch, everything with it is perfect, filters rotate easily and click in place, no scrathes on the body, basically brand new..maybe it was bumped somewhere when they were taking pictures of it

Okay so I bought a 17mm Takumar for $200 and I just got it in the mail..it has a few light scratches on the front of the lens..see the attached image...should I return it to the seller or should I keep it? Would these scratches affect the images? I can't test it with my DSLR because I dont have it at the moment..any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks :)

very nice pictures, i especially like the second one where he's looking curiously at you :)

on another note, I'm thinking of getting the 17mm Takumar, is it a good lens? i've read both good and bad reviews so i'm kind of in the middle right now...

---------- Post added 24th Mar 2014 at 23:52 ----------

well....nevermind.....i bought it....hopefully it works well...spent $210 on it including the shipping..at least i'll be able to resell it if i dont use it or like it anymore :)

well there's one on ebay in "EXC" condition for $69 and $11 shipping so $80 total

---------- Post added 22nd Mar 2014 at 23:19 ----------

the ring that rotates isnt really a problem it just kind of annoys me. the manual-auto switch is "fixed" now because i managed to switch it to the manual side...i'm just worried about the fungus/separation thing thats on the edge of the front element

So I bought a Super-Takumar 150mm f4 for $17. The problem with it is that the Maunal-Auto switch gets stuck on both positions and you have to try super hard in order to move it from one to the other. Also the little ring between the aperture and focus rings moves all the way around when it should stay stationary. I also think there's either fungus or the elements have started to separate in the front, but for now its in the very edge of the lens, barely visible. Should I send it to Eric or should I just buy one in better condition because the repair cost would be as much as a good condition lens of the same type. See the attached image for the little ring i was talking about:

So I have a SuperTak 50/1.4, 55/1.8, 200/3.5 and I was wondering if I'd need to buy a hood for situations where the sun is shining brightly since the Taks are not SMC?

I made a thread but not a lot of ppl replied so im posting here:

A couple days ago I bought a 200mm f3.5 Takumar from Ebay for $90, and the lens is in amazing condition cosmetically and optically, the only this that has been bugging me is that the focus ring kind of wobbles a little and when i push it up with my hand it moves like 1mm...it feels like its a bit loose, and i was wondering if that was usual for these taks..if not, how can i fix it? Other than that it moves smoothly and there are no other issues.

Okay so I bought a Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 8 element lens today, paid 170 for it (excluding shipping). I'm thinking of buying a 55mm f1.8, is that a good one or should i get a 35mm lens? And if so, which one? Btw I have an old Zenit-E camera and i shoot film :D any advice for takumar lenses? Or recommendations? Thanks everyone :)
