The hood that normally comes with this lens is a screw-in type. Like the other's have said, not really needed due to the recessed element. They sell the official hood separately at a number of online shops, and you can buy knockoff versions for considerably less, as well. My best friend has this model, leaves the hood in his bag -- and gets excellent results. If I didn't already have a great macro lens -- a PM would have sent for this when it was first listed. Great lens that really delivers :)
