More backyard northern cardinal shots with the K3 and Tamron 55BB 500mm f/8. DeNoise AI allowed me to use high ISO (1600-2500) and post process the K3’s noisy images. I like this lens/camera combination much more now.

The bunny was at 1/125th Second. Out of fifteen or so shots, only one wasn’t motion blurred by the little furball. The cardinal was 1/250th.

A dull, overcast day isn’t ideal for a slow f/8 T stop f/10 mirror lens. The Tamron 55BB and K5iis @ ISO 1100 still came through.

I haven’t taken my Tokina 500mm F8 Mirror lens out for over two months, so I figured it was time. A row of dahlia flowers along a farm drive caught my eye.

I am becoming a fan of the Tokina 500mm F8 mirror lens (and my KS-2). These images were shot handheld at 1/250th or 1/320th of a second @ ISO 1600 in overcast conditions. Focusing the lens is the biggest challenge. I adjusted light and contrast in PP . The colors are straight from the camera. I made a deep felt lens hood for the stubby Tokina which helps a tremendous amount in reducing flare and ghosting. The mid 1980's Tokina is the best $50 I've spent in a while.
