All of my latest acquisitions have been non photo related. Only been tempted a couple of times on photo gear this last year...

I have recently gotten a bunch of stuff. Some had not yet been delivered (Kickstarter). One thing has been a while back but I haven't tested it yet. But several things I will relate here now: - OXO cold brew coffee maker, on sale during Amazon Prime days, and an NYT Wirecutter fave: amazon.com: OXO Good Grips 32 Ounce Cold Brew Coffee Maker,Black : Home & Kitchen?tag=pentaxforums-20& Delicious coffee! My wife is not a fan of gadgets, especially ones that take up space in our kitchen (we share all kitchen duties...). One taste and she guzzled her glass, instant convert.
- Echo Boost Beach Switch Rod: amazon.com : Echo Boost Beach Fly Rod : Sports & Outdoors?tag=pentaxforums-20& I got the 8 wt. You can overhand cast this rod if you have room. Haven't tried a true switch or spey cast yet as I didn't need to down in Florida on a recent trip to see family near Vero Beach. Not much action on the beach, but the rod cast beautifully, 80 feet of line effortlessly not including the leader (used a Wulff Ambush line, 8 wt). I've now been told by a local angler and fly shop clerk that I need to up-line it (he has the rod) for even better performance. Can't wait for the summer doldrums in the mid-Atlantic surf to be over.
- Matched it with a Maxcast Sparta reel: amazon.com: Maxcatch Sparta Fly Reel Fully Sealed Lightweight Expert Fly Fishing Reel(3/5wt, 5/7wt, 7/9wt, 8/10wt) (Ice Blue, 8/10wt) : Sports & Outdoors?tag=pentaxforums-20& Terrific reel.

Metric is the best. Base ten, what's not to like here? U.S. people get hung up on conversion. Don't convert! Just throw out your old measuring implements and use metric. It's simple.
But the year and the circle will never be metric.

Wished they'd had those back in the day. Would've kept my electric guitar....

I am still anxiously awaiting an acquisition I made this summer through a Kickstarter campaign. I'll keep you in suspense, but give a hint: It's about the size of a breadbox, but has unusual features. Can't wait to get it, have been waiting for something like this for a loooong time.

New Ram Bighorn pickup? Well, why did you sell your 645Z setup, since now you have something big enough to tote it around with?

Cutting up wood sheet goods. Can use it to make panels for paintings, kitchen cabinet doors, & etc. Useful. Got it for $139, so fine. What's nice is that you can use any circular saw (that works with the sled). What's not is dust collection, and that it's a bit less tight on the track than a track saw---dumb on Kreg's part.

Kreg Accu-cut XL
Wish I could have picked up a proper track saw, but couldn't justify the expense. This will have to do.

See, now that's a type of mod Pentax should offer.

Those things are great! They're not a mess, really...something that small is bound to have issues. My first one was the LED version---my first "good" camera. Got stolen, and I replaced it with a black S.

I've had stuff come from Japan (ink paintings...) surprisingly quickly. I've also had mail take over 6 weeks to get from Baltimore to Vienna---and the delay was all on the Austrian side.
BTW---that FA 35...it's got field curvature you will have to deal with. IMO, the A and DFA versions are better---the A is very sharp but of course manual. I sold my A to get the FA, then sold that to get the DFA. Very satisfied with the DFA.

I'll be quite interested how you feel about this lens. It's the only one in the lineup I was disappointed with---mainly because it is potentially such a useful FL, and this lens underperforms the 45-85. This was widely reported, but I got it anyway after reading some contrary views. But my use of it confirmed the issues.
Definitely a candidate for a refresh on Pentax's part!

Great lens. Sold mine when I got the 90. Been looking to get an FA 120 though to replace it.

This is a truth of the universe. My wife and I had a Saab 96 way back when, which I rebuilt (did the engine in the living room). But it developed a water pump problem after the rebuild. It was mounted onto the upper right backside of the front of the engine, completely accessible...except for that one bolt. To this day I don't know what sort of tool you'd need to get that tightened properly.

Irix Blackstone 11 f4 for Pentax. No longer a huge fan of UWA lenses for personal work, but I got this on sale from B&H, a really good deal; usage = when I need to go even wider than the 15-30 on my K1mkII.
Used it on a shoot almost right away: had to take a photo of a hanging tapestry in an embassy, and the site situation only allowed me to be about 2.75-3 meters away from it....and it was a good 5 meters tall. Also did some shots for stitiching, but amazingly the single shot corrected in LR to something pretty doggone acceptable. Might have saved the day.

I've gotten a used FA 35 (so small!), the 77 limited, a new 24-70 ($300 off sale at B&H), and the big one, the DA 25 for my Z, used from Lens Authority. It's a lot! But all great.
