Very nice, David. Excellent ambiance.
I'd like to make it back to Konstanz one of these days.

Unacceptable for pixel peeping purposes perhaps.
But I, for one, think the results on these pages speak for themselves: not just acceptable, but extraordinary.

It's actually a 14-step program:
1. Admit you're powerless over the mind-control of the 15mm Limited.
2. Oooh, pretty!
3. ???
Okay, I guess it's more like two steps.

Thanks MattB, JHD, and Hiimage!
Hiimage, you don't NEED the DA15 for pictures like that, but it certainly is adept at them. It's very flare resistant (with other lenses, would you even consider shooting directly into the sun?), and with small apertures (this one was at f/11), just about any sharply defined bright highlight will give you a starburst. Plus the DA15 gives you that deep, rich, blue sky.
Oh, who am I kidding? YES, YOU NEED THE DA15!

Absolutely, yes, no question about it. NEXT QUESTION!
We all process our photos, to one degree or another, whether it's through a raw processing program or the (adjustable!) in-camera JPEG settings. It would be silly to draw an arbitrary line.
This is a thread to share and appreciate the many different things we can capture with a single lens. And that picture is a great example!

Nice. Is that Baker Beach?
I'll add another Lake Tahoe sunset:
The Forest Service was doing some "prescribed burns" around the lake, so there was a bit of smoke in the air to contribute to the colors. Nonetheless, I'll cop to bumping up the saturation just a bit more . . .

The DA15 really handles these winter snowscapes with aplomb. Keep 'em coming!
Around here, winter brings only clouds, rain, and mud. Which is fine with me -- and explains why I enjoy these photographs so much -- pictures don't need to be shoveled.

I agree with this 100%. I can find something to gripe about in every single one of my other lenses. (Granted, most of them are as old as I am...) But the 15mm Ltd is simply exquisite. Small, sharp, contrasty. A real dynamo.
It's not for everyone. If you need to reach 10mm, or you want a zoom, then by all means get the Sigma. If you need f/2.8, get the DA 14mm or the manual-focus Rokinon/Samyang. But if you want a compact well-built 15mm prime, with amazing real-world image quality and plenty of character and personality, try the 15mm Limited!
If you're not sure, go back and look at the pictures in this thread again.
Oh wait, I thought of something to complain about. It doesn't make me breakfast.

A very belated thanks, Jay!
Alas, my K20D is now in the shop (a little impact damage to the bottom plate, oops!, and a sticky shutter) so for a while I'll need to be satisfied by holding my precious DA 15mm Ltd up to my eye and looking through it. But it's not the same!

I'm having a hard time removing this lens from my camera. It has me under its spell.
Are all the DA/FA Limiteds this crisp and vibrant? I didn't know what I was missing.

Just got this lens yesterday, and I can tell already that it will be a lot of fun!
It sure is sharp and contrasty. Me like.

Heh. heh heh. Ha ha ha. HA HA HA. HAW, HAW, HAWWWW!
You're token resistance is quaint. All it is, though, is your waking mind trying to talk your Id out of something that it (read, you) really want, and will eventually have.
You'll probably go to bed tonight without the lens, and wake up the next morning with your laptop on your covers, running, browser on Amazon, or B&H, or Adorama, Abes, etc... And you'll realize you've ordered the lens in your sleep. Your Id will have won.
Avoid this pointless battle altogether. Order it now.

Curse you for being right!
I blame all of you here, but especially Jay. :D
Gah! Expected delivery date: July 26.
