i only can access the small previews so i can't help you there, but maybe you should start a new thread for this question.
i think you would get more response because it would be seen on the front page under "latest discussions" if you make a new one.

regards patrick

not necessary, for a manual focus lens it makes no difference if it is on or off, just for af lenses important

i enabled this option, for general use it makes no difference either, but if you ever want to use lenses without "A" setting you might not remember this setting and search forever for the problem why you can't take a picture.

yes it is normal, the camera can't tell if you have changed the lens or not so it asks you. i sometimes forget to turn the camera off before changing the lens, then i have to set the new focal length in the menu, almost everytime after i took a bunch of pictures because i forget about it. if you only have one manual lens it might become annoying, but i actually like this feature. at least it remembers the last used focal lenght so you just have to push "ok".
you can also skip this menu by slightly pushing the shutter release button after turning the camera on.

All lenses UncleVanya listed can be fully controlled by the camera - including Autofocus

Manual Focus lenses are K, M, A and M42 lenses (For M42 an adapter is needed).
With K, M and M42 lenses you can't controll your aperture with the camera, how to use this lenses is explained here:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/54-pentax-lens-articles/110657-how-use-me...k-x-k-7-a.html
With SMC Pentax-A lenses you can controll the aperture with the camera you just have to focus manually (Samyang lenses have the KA mount and work like Pentax-A lenses, for other 3rd party lens manufacturers you have to check for every lens if it has a K (all manual), KA (aperture controlled from the camera) or KAF/KAF2 mount (Autofocus included / all current lenses from Tamron and Sigma).

K, M, A and M42 lenses don't tell the camera what focal length they have so you have to insert this information manually or your Image Stabilization System won't work correctly.

Depends on your primary subjects. For Portrait photos the FF will certainly be interesting, but for Wildlife photography the smaller crop sensor is no disadvantage because it gives you more reach.

I don't have a Canon so I am not able to compare them, but I own the K3 and I am very happy with it. It has a good gripe and balances also bigger lenses well. Both cameras are capable of producing good quality pictures but I think the AF system of the Canon is believed to be better, nevertheless I never had any reason for complaints with the K3 AF system. An advantage of the Pentax is that you have in-body image stabilisation.
If you want more bang for the buck you can look for legacy lenses, there is plenty of good glas available for the Pentax.

DFA lenses are FF compatible.
DA lenses are usually not (Smaller image circle / From what I have read the DA 40mm and DA* 300mm are despite their name FF compatible too)
