Could it be that the Japanese photography enthusiasts are avid GADGET buyers? I really don't think this will prove out for the rest of the world......but what do I know.:D

Where in the H*ll do these Mirrorless Evangelists come from? Is there a Mirrorless Evangelist training academy some place? They must be sent here to save us from DSLRs, a fate worse than point and shoot. We seem to get one or two every month or so then they fade away only to be replaced by another batch of them. Please no more preaching, don't they realize that we are just irredeemable Luddite DSLR users.;)

About half of my lens are DA and at my age I really don't need to be investing a lot of money in different lens that's why I didn't buy a K-1 after their price dropped. I've given my daughter my K-50 and some lens so other than my little Panasonic FZ35 and my film Minolta XD11, I'm down to a lightly used K-3 with less than 20,000 shutter actuations. When a new High Spec APS-C body hits the market, I'm grabbing it and plan to have it and the K-3 as my last cameras.

I guess I'm one of those minions! As a K-3 shooter, I'm just not willing to take a step back to a KP even though it has wonderful IQ and a bit better High ISO performance. The ergonomics and features and form factor of the K-3/K-3II are almost ideal from my point of view, plus its still a great camera.
I do hope that Ricoh/Pentax comes through with another high spec APS-C that will make me go WOW, where do I send my money. Having said that, if they don't come through, my trusty K-3 has many moon to go.

Begging your pardon Ronny Old Buddy, but I believe that statement came from Jodi Palm, the Marketing Manager for Ricoh Imaging in the US. She might take umbrage to your "throw-away statement".

RE, I realize that you were not advocating the NX mount but were referring to the Samsung sensor and related processor. But, for some reason there were a number of posts referring to the NX mount. I really don't see what sensors have to do with mounts. I mean Pentax uses Sony sensors but certainly doesn't use an A or E mount. Folks arguing mounts is a non starter for me.

How about explaining "Baked in RAW noise reduction"? Can you recognize it when you see it or do you have to have some "expert" tell you its baked in RAW noise reduction. I for one, could not care less where the RAW N/R comes from as long as the RAW image is superior when it gets to my RAW developer. I'd wager "RAW purist" can not tell you how to distinguish a pure RAW file.

When did this thread SWERVE into assuming that the NX mount would be what Pentax might use? Its patently obvious that Pentax is thankfully committed to the K Mount. So please refrain from assuming that there will be anything related to the new APS-C high spec DSLR that will be NX mount. I support any sensor that raises the bar on IQ and frame rate.

Nope not on your life. Some might want that, I want state of the art, Pentax style. Great IQ, excellent High Iso performance, superb ergonomics and a dash of improved AF along with the current K-3II frames per second or better.

You can cross one off your wish list, Pentax DSLRs haven't had an antialiasing filter since around 2013 or so. Good luck on the others.

After handling both the big box store consumer Nikons and Canons and discovering that some of their Kit lens were not stabilized that made me look further. When I discovered that the K-50 had IBIS like my Panasonic FZ35 and at a more than competetive price point I decided on Pentax plus it was and is a brand that the masses don't have, right up my contrarian alley. My K-50 purchase led me to the K-3, I still own my K-50 also and I don't regret buying either.

Well you just need to slide on over to the camera store and get intimate with that lens and support your local shop. Shops in my area are none existent.

Most days I live within 30 feet of my computer and can access reviews and specs then log into B&H, Adorama or Amazon and buy what I want!

I've seen a you tube video of someone attaching a bungee to the tripod mount and standing on the lower end of the bungee then pulling up on the camera to help stabilize the camera. Seemed to work pretty well as a stabilization method.
