I agree it is a wonderful lens. But I am no longer willing to keep m43 / Pentax / and Sony. Just too much stuff.

I wouldn’t have if I hadn’t noticed the tone of a comment that made it seem likely a shot from the past.

I owned the 17/2.8 and sold it keeping the 20/1.7. The 17/2.8 was a much better lens than it gets credit for. I still liked the 20 better in many ways.

I owned both an em1 and multiple Panasonic bodies. The 20mm f1.7 was one of my lenses (version 2) and I never noticed it being slower on the em1 than say the GX8. But to be fair, while it isn’t a fast focusing lens I never really noticed it in my use.

That lens is one of my favorite m43 lenses. I think it’s wonderful… but I’m biased. The focus limiter it’s very useful.

Isolation requires a bit more work. Subject close, background
Far works. Subject far, telephoto shot with background farther works. Colors help. Light subject dark background works and potentially reversed if background lacks features.

That’s the kind of thing I’m looking to get for my dad’s A7RII. There’s a JJC on that looks good.

Weirdly it shows only 69mm (roughly 138mm on ff or 92 on apsc.) I stayed in Wehawken and the skyline looked farther than that to me. Lol.

You’re going to love it. I never used an L bracket. The thing is small and has great stabilization so most shots were handheld but for those needing tripod I either used a small arca plate or (god forbid) a simple 1/4 thread.

Minor change to my intent… lol. I’m saying that after you make the decision to sell - selling to those groups is less trouble than selling individually.

Sellers remorse is real. I struggled hard with this decision for many months. I have only sold a small amount of things over the years.

I’ve set myself a short window to sell here. Then whatever doesn’t sell is keh/mpb/Roberts bound. It’s easier to sell to them for sure but I wanted to give a few people the option on good deals and it seems to be workable. I have three lenses already tentatively sold.

I currently have three different formats and two compact cameras. I realized I’m willing to use my Sony RX100IV most of the time when m43 would be the choice otherwise. It means my Pentax apsc gear will be going on more trips.

The m43 image quality hasn’t been an issue for me, mostly it’s just a need to stop playing in so many ponds. It’s hard to maintain three separate formats across four brands. Analysis paralysis sets in. The 55-300 PLM is likely to be acquired to offset the loss of the 45-175 on m43. I like the fact that it retracts and is a speedy focusing lens and I won’t miss the power zoom on the 45-175. I may regret the decision (sellers remorse) but I think I need to do this. Too many disparate systems make me an Uncle of all systems and master of none. Meaning I have trouble going deep into the extra features off many of the cameras due to too many to master.

I am leaving m43. I have posted some of my gear in the marketplace. Just an FYI. More threads to follow in the marketplace.

No clue. If he ever sees the image and requests removal I’ll make it private. I don’t intend to annoy anyone with my photography.

It was at a renaissance festival and this was in the public side of the space but in an area where there wasn’t an active performance going on. He was a good distance away as well. Clearly he wanted to be left alone. By the time I knew that the image was made.

I see she’s in the “Michael Jordan” school when it comes to using your tongue as a concentration aid- lol. Any clue what is in her right hand?

I had the same thought but the blur suggested a very wide aperture- but Exif said f11??? That’s got to be macro I thought to myself.
