Using a prime lens in a nightclub

F and FA 35 f2 is another prime worth looking at. These are faster versions and a bit more expensive than the Da 35 f 2.4, but may be too long.

Sigma 17-70 f2.8-f4 might work. The lens is fast in the focal lengths you are using and well respected. It will slow down as you zoom in so that might make it more complex to use in that situation.
