I am not at home and cannot receive lenses there. Do not send any lenses to me until you verify the address as I’m on an extended trip. I can convert lenses where I am.

Thanks for the call out. I also should point out the DA* 200 can be converted as well. The DA* 60-250 is the only lens that really can't be converted that has both drive systems built in.

Send me your tired, arthritic, lame shelf queens and get back a young energetic puppy of a lens!
Still converting!

I’ve converted a lot of these lenses. They are too nice to leave in disrepair. Just let me know here or message me if you need the service.

I’ve kept the model unchanged. $45 + shipping based on estimated cost from usps site.
If you’re holding onto one of these lenses and wish it was still autofocus… I’m still converting lenses.

I just finished converting a 16-50 for another forum member. This service is still available for $45 + shipping - This will likely go up to $55 + shipping but I am also considering changing return shipping to a flat $30 fee and including insurance of $400 by default. The effort of invoicing is starting to wear on me. A flat fee model would allow me to collect a predictable amount up front and not have to wait for payment before completing the package for shipment.

I started this service with the idea that it was a service that needed to be accessible and you are just adding to that by lowering the shipping barriers. Good luck!

I can. Let’s discuss via private message. I really dislike the effort for the paperwork and it can result in customs chaos on your end - generally you can get paid back the import fees they collect but they still seem to collect them.

Once the lens is converted the cameras all should work fine. The conversion makes the lens lie about capabilities to the camera. The lens essentially claims it doesn’t have sdm. The camera then uses screwdrive.

Just a quick update: I now have confirmed that if you have one of the 4 lenses I convert (DA* 200/2.8, 300/4, 16-50/2.8, 50-135/2.8) with a damaged powerzoom/sdm contact, the lens can be successfully converted to screwdrive. I wasn’t sure so I tested my own lens using electrical tape to insulate the contacts. The lens failed to focus with the contacts covered in normal mode; and after screwdrive conversion it worked. All testing and conversion was done with the contacts covered.

You are most welcome. While I charge a fee I do this mostly to help bring these lenses back from disuse. I love making things useful again. I tinker in real life and tend to repair rather than replace when it’s possible.
