What a stunning photograph!
Gorgeous subject, great use of dof, wonderful muted colour palette. I am in awe.

Ah, must be one of those propane jobbies. We have one, the cat has jumped on it once or twice but never sits on it. Strange, because she likes to sit on the heat register when the forced air comes on. Maybe she likes the breeze...
Ooh, pet photo idea - I'll have to get a picture of her doing that! Thanks for the inspiration.

Holy crap, I hope that isn't as hot as it looks, or your living room must smell like burning hair!
Gorgeous cat, btw.

So sorry to hear it, Richard. He certainly had a good, long life, and the best of people to care for him. Enjoy all your happy memories of a fine cat. They never last long enough, do they?

Wow, he sounds like a trooper. And you, giving him the daily drip. One of our cats (Borys) has a heart murmur and arrhythmia, and can't take heat. He had a couple of bad spells during the summer in hot, humid weather, but as we head into winter he's doing much better!
The first shot below is Borys last winter, hunting for some unsuspecting meadow vole under the snow - and no, he didn't get it! The second is of Borys (in the middle) and his sisters Ollie (foreground) and Tova (backgound) coming "on safari" as we call it, basically a walk in the pasture. In winter, we do it on snowshoes - the last is Ollie getting ready to take a rest on my snowshoes. They love to run along the track and attack one another!

Noticed a few horses in the thread... this one isn't mine, she belongs to the guy across the road, but she's a nice horse. Some kind of draught horse (can you tell I know nothing about horse breeds?), very calm and friendly... and curious. She was hanging over the fence investigating what I was up to when I took this!

Isn't that redundant?
I've never met a sane border collie, you couldn't pay me enough to own one, but make no mistake, they're wonderful dogs. I watched someone tossing a toy for her border collie, she told him to wait, then go slow - he started creeping forward. "Slower!" she says... and he slowed down. But boy did he go when she said okay! A real sweetie. Great shot of yours, she looks all ready to go!

Today it's Ollie's sister, Tova. They barely tolerate one another, but they'll cuddle up for warmth on cold nights.
I should point out that this is the only shot I have of Tova in which her face is in focus, she's looking at the camera, and is in good light for photographing a black cat. She's far too interested in being petted, so she always tries to rub on the camera!

Just 'cause I'm procrastinating...
A shot of Ollie, which until a few days ago was the desktop picture on my computer. She was "helping" me take some macros. I was lying on the floor and she decided I would be nice to sit on, so this is taken with a 90mm macro with her sitting on my hip.
