Went for a walk around the Sheffield General Cemetery today. Closed in 1978, today the cemetery is kept open by a trust who have allowed it to age and overgrow while keeping the paths clear and the buildings standing. It makes a lovely, peaceful place for a photowalk.

I took the DA50 along and I'm glad I did. I took a Nikon F80 full of HP5+ with a 28-80 Zoom Nikkor on the front to do my wideangle shots and focussed on just getting the right ones with the 50mm. I don't use this lens much but I need to take it out more. Its rendering is beautiful and it has that real 3D fairydust rendering, especially in full size photos (I'm concerned web size might not do it justice).

Anyway, here they are:

f5.6

f1.8

f3.5

Love this thread so much, it always makes me proud to own my brick.

Cross-posted from the M club, this was with the M135/3.5 lens (one of my favourites). F8, 1/200s at ISO400.

Spring started sunny but has tailed off into wind and rain. Still, here's an M50/1.7 shot from today.

f1.7, 1/1250s at ISO 400.

Went for a drive up the Snake Pass to relax after class today, stopped by the Ladybower Reservoir to snap a few photos - mostly film but a few K-01. One of the advantages of studying in Sheffield is the access to beautiful and very dramatic countryside to photograph (not that we usually have the weather for it this time of year).

A50/1.7 @ f8, 1/200, 100ISO. Cropped to 'panorama' to get rid of a jetty that was poking into the bottom. Because nobody wants a jetty poking into their bottom.

M135/3.5 @ f8, 1/125, 100ISO. This lens is a sharp little gem, by far the lightest and most compact 135mm I have, and it cost me £9. What more could you ask?

Cross-posted with off-brand lenses thread, I took this today with a truly knackered old zoom lens that came on a P30 I found in a charity shop. Full of fungus, blotchy coatings, and the overall effect was quite a pleasant glow when converted into black and white. Proves that anything is worth experimenting with!

The autumn colour is getting rather lovely here in Sheffield, which goes some way towards distracting my wimpy southerner self from the cold of the north this time of year.

I took the brick out with my F70-200 today, but this is probably the last time I'll use that lens since its aperture has finally given up on me. I see a 55-300 in my future...
Anyway, this one is wide open (out of necessity) at 95mm, 1/1000 at ISO 400.

Pretty new to this K-01 lark, but it's already true love after less than a month.

DA50/1.8, both f4

M50/1.7 @ f2.8

@ f1.7. I love the way this lens has rendered the out of focus blue and red markings on the A/C controls.

Miranda (Cosina) 24mm f2.8 MC @ f5.6

@ f8
