Thanks, Andi.

I regret trying to "clear" the yellowing out of the 50mm/1.4 when I first got it, now my favorite feature. Forgive me, kind and compassionate Takumar gods!

Well, you're right, any lens could have taken that shot.

But then what would I collect on eBay? Action figures? Leave me my illusions, man!

Maybe some dinosaurs will fix this... what am I saying? Dinosaurs can fix ANYTHING.

Royal Tyrell Museum of Paleontology, Drumheller, Alberta. Super-Takumar 1.4/50.

These are with K10D, ISO 800-1600. No PP, only WB correction and exposure compensation.

For reasons not completely understood to me, the normally grainy ISO 1600 looks fine when I use the Super-Takumar 1.4/50 instead of the FA 1.4/50.

Is it the yellowing of the glass? The smooth background cancels out OOF grain? Any takers? Takumar fairies sprinkling low-ISO pixie dust?

Congrats on the 200mm Arjay. I have the 3.5/200 - my favorite and most-used lens. I even love the weight of it now...

The down side? Loooong min. focus. These are with 12mm extension @ 5 feet.

This tree-rat was more wary of people with birdseed.

Crop of above. My attempts to add a little sharpening here just made the fur look "artificial" somehow...

My first shots with Curbster54's Super-Multi-Coated Talumar 3.5/28. Still too cold and wintry here for much more!

Went out today to take some shots of a building being torn down near my work in downtown Edmonton. Somehow our local river-valley dwelling prairie falcons knew in advance about the building being torn down and the hundreds of displaced pigeons milling about...

This was right on the corner of the street, with commuters and office drones walking by...

What is it about these lenses? I got a 55mm 1.8 in the mail a month ago and it hasn't been off my camera since.

Something about that lens and my tendency to photograph heaps of old junk is just a perfect fit...
