I own the DA 60-250, (owned) the DA 50-135mm) and have seen the pictures from the DA* 300 and 200 here, these experiences have informed the order which I rank these lenses.

I forgot to mention I own the DA* 16-50mm as well...

Some point about DA* 200 are valid, slow SDM, CA wide open ( would benefit from some additional SLD elements) but to say it's not a sharp lens, that's taking it too far. The 200mm f2.8 is one of the sharpest telephoto lenses, besting the DA* 300 ( but it's not popular due to lack of reach). I agree that we won't see a modern 200 f2.8 anytime soon, after the limited, a wide angle ff prime and a new 200mm macro, 135mm f2.8 with dc aw should be next.

How sharp is the FA/DA 200mm f2.8? Check out roburgoss post

If they had released the FF in 2012 It would have cost upwards of $4000

First time I see it myself, good stuff Angus. The 150-450 @ 150 is definitely prime quality superb. I was impressed with the TC combo of 630mm f8 at the long end, very nice IQ considering it was an overcast day. It looks like an exciting lens for sure

The DC motors from what I can understand come with different "power" specs, I'm sure the ones of the D-FA are top of the line in that regard. DC motors are renown for their reliability and I don't see them behaving differently in a lens.

Thank you for the pictures

It seems the lens is very sharp @360mm f7.1 and slightly less so @450....still pretty impressive color and detail on an overcast shooting day

This from digitalcamerainfo.com, Interesting use of the programmable buttons on the 150-450mm zoom.
