Not sure the identity of this hawk; perhaps others may know for sure. Sadly nature is cruel, he had just gotten a female bluebird.

Tom, so far I'm very fortunate to have steady hands while photographing, it helps get a lot of shots I'd miss with a tripod/monopod. But we must use everything we can, so that we can continue to enjoy our great hobby, so keep that monopod ready to use!

I really like the starburst pattern on the 17-50! Your shots may convince me to replace my Pentax 18-55 with the Tammy 17-50 in the future!
I recently have in my possession a Tamron 10-24; but hurt my knee, so can't get out & experiment with it.:(
