But then, I think we could agree that you're an exception and not a typical user. Most people don't have a lens repair shop, nor the knowledge or skills to adapt lenses. Usually, most people just want something working fine right out of the box. If a repair shop is needed, this simply means that adapted lenses shouldn't be seen as a mainstream solution that could replace native lenses, at least for most people.

My comment was based on people I knew that bought Sony cameras with the idea they will use Canon lenses with adapters, which is one of the sale point for Sony. However, they rapidly found that compatibility is a hit and miss, some features available with native lenses aren't with adapted ones, and even when they worked it still was an akward and underwhelming experience compared to native lenses. If they would have known this before, they wouldn't have bought a Sony body in the first place or would have stick with native lenses. Now, they certainly don't think adapted lenses could be the backbone of a system. At best, they could fill a gap while waiting for a native alternative.

I'm not saying that adapted lenses can't work. Just that pretending adapted lenses work as well as native lenses and can fully replace them as workhouse lenses isn't true. Or that saying that third party manufacturers support is better for Sony than Pentax because there's a Canon adapter for Sony is misleading.

But if you want to use Canon lenses, you're still way better to use a Canon body... Adapters really aren't the greatest thing to use, better than nothing, but not by much... They might be fun to use occasionnaly to experiment, or as a backup, but you can't really based your main line up on the use of adapters. Just look at the user's comments for the MC-11 on B&H website. Even the positive one are mostly of the kind "when it works, it works well, but you have to try your luck, and even then not as well as with a Canon body or a native lens". Unfortunately, many Sony users find it after the fact, thinking it will be the same as using the lens on their Canon body or a native Sony lens...

MC11 could make sense if you already have some Canon lenses you want to use to bridge the gap before buying a native lens. But it's certainly not a good strategy to start puting a lot of money in new lenses to use them with the adapter.

Would I like Pentax launched more lenses ? Sure. Would I like to see then entire line up of lenses from third party manufacturer in K-mount ? Sure. Would I actually buy any of those lenses if they were available ? No. So, I'm not concerned if they're not available in K-mount.

In fact, even if I was equiped with Canon or Nikon, I would have a very similar lenses line up than what I have right now in K-mount, but with a different tag (and the DA70 ltd would be dearly missed). Thus, I don't really care about lenses in a catalogue I wouldn't buy anyway.

For me, it's like looking at a menu in a restaurant. I care about things I like and willing to eat. I'm not concerned about what isn't on the menu, even less for things I would not order anyway. And certainly couldn't care less about those unwanted items bieng available in another restaurant.
