I'm brand new to photography, and after a long time learning the principles, and shortlisting and researching cameras and lenses, I chose a K-3 with the 18-135 WR lens as my first step into a more professional world. Today was my first walkabout and I spent hours photographing this and photographing that.
I saw this thistle somebody had spray-painted, and decided to shoot it. @135mm (202mm equivalent), f/5.6, 1/100sec, ISO 640, centre weighted metering, manual white balance.
I love how it captured the traces of a spider's web
Also, I found a disused railway, and saw this leaf laying on a track. So I attempted to isolate it with a long focal length, widest possible aperture, and spot auto-focus. Considering I've never handled anything other than a nasty old compact, I feel quite proud of myself for capturing this. @135mm (202mm equivalent), f/5.6, 1/20th sec, ISO 100, centre weighted metering, manual white balance. |
