I have a K-3. The $576 exceeds the value of a K-3, but that makes a used K-1 almost new, doesn't it? While it is not a bargain repair cost, a K-1 purchased circa 2021 for $650 with deferred maintenance, for a total of $1,226 does seems like a bargain, and it will be mechanically, virtually new.

$850 is low for a K-1. $500, really low. I am with you, keep the refund. Keep the camera. It may have no more than $200 resale in 5-years, but with your level of use, you probably will not wear it out. It took me 30-years to wear out the shutter on my Pentax ME Super. It was a sad day when I retired it.
