Yup, at those magnification you need every inch... even if only for lighting purposes (i.e. giving flash a little leeway and not getting a shadow in the way).

Wow that's a ground-breaking post for sure!
I actually have a 52mm reversing ring, but never thought to try it on a zoom lens, always used it on primes, becauseI reasoned that quality could't possibly be good...
I'm going to try that for sure :)

I think I'm just doing this one... then who knows... maybe I'll just get involved and do the whole ten yards :)
...if by miraculous luck I happen to win this month, I'm gonna flood the forum of pictures as soon as I get the camera, that's for sure! :lol:

Well, it's only days to the end of the month...then the tour de force is over.
I've shot very little, mostly because I have things to do, and I will be busy until the first half of July, the giveaway is just something I slot in the spare time... but boy do I miss a good stroll with a camera...

If you get "lesser" results, it's only because you don't shoot enough! :lol:
Or maybe I'm just good enough at presenting ordinary snapshots, fitting them into galleries and passing them as "photographs"... :p

Nope.
The closely-guarded secret is to bring it along as your only lens.
That way, shooting 500+ images each trip, you're bound to get some keepers! :lol:

Thanks a lot.
It's "the" lens I bring with me when I travel, because of convenience... if I had a 18-135, I would bring that one instead, but I don't miss the extra mm much.
Since I use it a lot, it's probably the lens I know best, and the one I shoot with the most.
As a consequence, I'm almost bound to get a few keepers here and there! :lol:

One of the most famous "casas" in Barcelona, Spain (? :) )
I almost always bring my 18-55 WR with me when going on a work trip: zero bulk, plenty of flexibility.
Paired with my white brick, it's a really convenient package.
