Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a little problem with two of my cameras (one KX and one K2). The ring inside the mount that reads the aperture set on the lens has trouble making his way back toward f/22. It's very responsive for low apertures although. I wonder if some kind of oil applied without dessambling the mount could fix it ? If yes which product ? Or, from your experience, is it a problem related to the spring inside ?
Thanks

Hi guys !
Does one of you know if a KX would fit properly in a Spotmatic case ? I've located some original KX case but people won't sell it without the cameras. From what I understand, the KX and KM had the same case. I have two original cases for Pentax cameras, one for the K1000 and one for the K2. The K1000 one is really thin and although I glued it is falling apart, the K2 one is made of hard leather and feels really solid. Of which kind is the KX/KM case ?

Thank you guys, i'm really honoured you like it !
Hi Steve ! I think I might try it this WE, i'll post a photo if I do so ! Thanks for the advice.
Let me get you back to you on that ! I watched your K series lens listing again and couldn't really figure out if you miss any of the K lenses, very impressive ! My collection is still a small one compared to yours but I think it's time for me to stop buying and take a good amount of time experimenting with each lens. Apart from the K 28mm f/3.5, which was my first K lens, I haven't had much time to shoot with the newcomers. Also i'd like to eventually add some reviews for the lenses and cameras but I don't feel comfortable yet doing it. By the way, thanks everybody for providing such great info on both the database and the forums. I feel I wouldn't have been able to figure out what I was really looking for without these.
I wasn't born yet when it happened but I feel I perfectly understand what turnover this shift from the K to the M and A eras has been. I completly share your views on this matter.
Thanks LessDMess, i'm glad you like it. And i'm also interested in the fact i'm not the only who shares his love between MX and KX. From the reviews and forums, I feel one can clearly see a lot of people are either chosing the KX/K2/Kdmd or MX/LX line up. As for the lenses, K series are obviously my first pick but regarding cameras I would say the differences between line ups are only situationnal choices. They both offer benefits that one should capitilize on according to conditions (light photography session, studio, walk around the park, trip around the world, etc.). To me it's almost like there's less of a gap between the cameras than between the lenses.

It's been one year since I started diving into analog photography. As I earlier said before on these forums, i inherated an MX with the infamous Pentax-M 40mm f/2.8 (which I like a lot), rediscovered the pleasure of taking photos and fell in love with Pentax gear. Though what really got into my heart was, on top of others, the K series cameras and lenses : their weight, aesthetic and of course the outstanding optical quality of the lenses. I've been on a strike these recent months and the family has grown in spectacular manner (to me at least), since i've been lucky enough to find deals i couldn't pass on. I received today my latest purchase (KX body, 35mm f/2, 105mm f/2.8) and so I thought it was a good time to take a few pictures and share it with you.
History family (all prices include shipping costs) :
- 1st black KX Body, 35eu
- K 28mm f/3.5, 50eu
- 28mm to 35mm original Pentax hood, 30eu (bought to Gofour3 btw)
- K 55mm f/1.8, 28eu (foire internationale de la photographie at Bièvres)
- K 35mm f/3.5 and K 50mm f/1.4, 100eu
- 2nd black KX Body, K 105 f/2.8 and K 35mm f/2, 93eu
1st Photo (left to right) :
- 2nd black KX Body (features split-screen focusing), mounted with K 35mm f/2 and original Pentax hood
- MX Body mounted with M 40mm f/2.8
- 1st black KX Body (features micro-prism focusing), mounted with K 105 f/2.8 and original Pentax hood
2nd Photo (left to right again) :
- K 28mm f/3.5
- K 35mm f/2
- K 35mm f/3.5
- K 50mm f/1.4
- K 55mm f/1.8
- K 105mm f/2.8
As you can notice i am still missing 2 of the original cases (50 and 55mm), one original 52mm cap and the original Pentax hood for standard lenses. Gofour3, maybe you have one standard hood spare ?

Hi, if there's any french guy around here, there's a wonderfull set of pentax K lenses on a french well known sell/buy website (including K 50mm f1.2, K 28mm f2, K 135mm f2.5, they all seem in very good state). I phoned the seller, so many people phoned her it went from 150 euros to 450 euros in an hour. To my knowledge it's still selling at this price though I think it's worth much more. My heart started beating when I saw the price at 150. But as a student, I don't have that kind of money and i'm out of the game so, here's the link : Pentax asahi k2 Image & Son Haute-Garonne - leboncoin.fr
(By the way, I allowed myself to post this since I think it's a one-time-a-year offer type and it is obviously some wonderfull Pentax gear even if I am not posting the photos myself.)
@ Jean Poitiers : Seems like the offer has been closed, yes. A shame I didn't save the pictures ... I sent you the phone number and email adress of the seller if you are really interested. Anyone : feel free to send me a PM to ask the same, maybe it's not too late. Obviously I won't disclose the contact information publicly here.
