No, much of photography has nothing to do with just the mechanics of taking a picture. My wife is used to a "5 minute photo stop" taking 30 minutes as I consider perspective after perspective. There is no evidence that unique souls can be automated.

What are you responding to?? My wife is used to a "5 minute photo stop" taking as much as 30 minutes as I figure out which perspective I want. You could never program that kind of judgement into a drone, and I wouldn't want to miss the experience.

The only thing that would prevent me from purchasing a new Pentax camera is if my K-30 had died a year ago - but I am totally satisfied with it. The KP is the most interesting camera to me in over twenty years, since AF started becoming common. I would have one already if our finances were more stable.

Before I got a camera with built-in motor drive in 1995, I had hand-cranked cameras, which realistically gave me perhaps 1/3 fps. Personally have need for neither high fps nor deep buffer - in fact, I often forget to have what my K-30 gives me now.

Look back at where I used that phrase. By implication there is nothing special about these persons, but their {both male and female persons} needs, and their {both male and female persons} willingness to spend money satisfying their needs, are what will eventually cause the high-ISO initiative to pay off. Most here are willing to fix noise issues in PP, but there is a whole market out there that will never be drawn in by what can be done in PP - if the camera cannot deliver a credible product, then they aren't interested. But these Pentax products are going to delivery credible images, and they {both male and female persons} will be interested. That is why I don't understand the constantly gloomy negative atmosphere here.

My wife uses that wording to make a list more inclusive; otherwise women seem to be excluded.

I don't understand why all this Computer Science talk is here. I'm guessing this is not a true Turing Machine - it doesn't go back-and-forth on a tape, but instead does calculations very quickly. None of this matters.

What does matter is that all testimony says the K-70 and KP are producing good, high quality images at high ISO values Straight Out Of Camera; yes, people could do some of that PP, but some of us would rather spend hobby time in the field than pressing keys, and they are reaching out to us. I don't care how they do it. It doesn't matter! The K-1 has a much better "sports" DxOMark score than the Nikon D850 does. That is very good news!! Pentax seems to have chosen graceful high ISO performance as a hallmark, something showing up in all their new products; they are doing it, doing it well, and I believe that is very good news.

It is not "propaganda". It is news! Running fast and low power on the camera is very good news.

Nobody cares how fast it could run on the computer back home - this unit is getting the job done in the field, before they ever get home. Nobody is disputing that.

When Tom, Dick or Harriett returns home and unloads images from camera to computer, there is negligible noise despite having using higher ISO values. Nobody is disputing that.

It is happening in real time. Nobody is disputing that.
