I have yet to see an example from "astro" where a final K-1ii image loses detail that would have been preserved by the K-1.
added: I'm sure someone is busy on that right now. When s//he does generate a case, we'll be in a position to discuss that aspect of the implications of the 'accelerator'.

Suppose this were several camera generations back, and the effects you saw were ultimately tied to a different AA filter physically glued to the sensor.
What would be your reaction then?

Because some people have an emotional tie to what has been called 'RAW' as though it were a file type. For some time we have had hints that so-called 'RAW' files were being processed. I have used the terminology 'raw' to indicate we are talking about a whole class of files of poorly defined source; my wife suggested to me that we should call them 'rare' instead, but terminology cannot take away from the fact that we know nothing about how they come to be. Roughly 1-1/2 years ago there was an article Fujifilm GFX :: The True Story About a Secret Meeting (and Test) That Convinced Fujifilm to Go Medium Format - Fuji Rumors
saying that Fujifilm had decided to go medium format after they became convinced that they could process Pentax 'raw' files "better" ... hinting that Fujifilm was already applying some kind of processing to 'raw' files. Some Nikon cameras allow user to influence how large a 'raw' file is created, but even so, Nikon cameras are "smoked" by Sony cameras in DxOMark higher ISO testing . These facts suggest that at least some cameras do more than just transcribe data from the sensor when creating a so-called 'raw' file .... but answers are hard to come by, and I don't know of any authoritative source willing to talk on the subject. Thus people have continued to assume whatever they will.

I am quite sure that Sony is also has 'processing' in the path to their 'raw' files - it may be integrated into their sensor as another layer, but it is there somewhere.
