We already have people complaining about the size of the KP! There would be no point to this design if a majority of people used the 'grip' all the time.

Do you hold the camera and lens with two hands?
"Imbalance" should not be a thing in that case.

I am familiar with EF, EF-S, and EF-M lenses. What do you mean by TS-E lenses??

Most of the size complaints I see are about the KP - which is still larger than most film cameras {I don't know how it compares to K-1000 and the various Practika models}, but I also see people say they have to add a battery grip to K-3 or similar camera so body "can balance" long lens; the K-3 is much larger than the film cameras that I easily used long lenses on, which is why I question whether "putting K-1 on diet" would be a wise decision - seems it would just create another "reason" to complain.

I agree with you in theory, but look at all the complaints about small cameras - people have become comfortable with the T-90 design and expect the body to "balance" any lens of any size; the practice of using the left hand to "balance" a long lens seems to be completely lost.

My comment was not about naming of the new camera. My comment was about people disparaging importance of the 'accelerator'; they continually talk as though it is an unimportant change in the design, and yet it is the one feature that has generated all the talk, here and at DPR, about the new camera.

Why do people insist on describing the the Mark ii as "same camera with some improvements"?? The 'accelerator' is a major major change; once people started recognizing what it really does, this essentially resulted in open warfare in various threads here and elsewhere {like at CPReview}. I believe the 'accelerator' makes lots of sense for cameras such as the K-70 and KP, which might appeal to people like me who don't have any interest in spending as much time in PP as in the field, but I'm not sure how this works out for those attracted to FF.
