That is interesting to know. I'm not complaining about the DA*55. Just stating my experience with my copy. My Rokinon 85 1.4 is the same way. I actually try and use the wide open soft glow to my advantage. The DFA 85 is the one I'm waiting to see. From what I've seen with the DFA 50 I will not be disappointed.

Thank you for the comparison. My copy of the DA 55 does not get really sharp until about f2.2. From f2.8 on it is very sharp. I typically shoot between f2.8-f6.3 with it. On my copy f6.3 seems to be the "sweet" spot. That new DFA 50 sure looks amazing. I'm holding out for the DFA85.

My DA*55 will have to do for now. That lens sure looks good on the K-1 though.

With rounded apeture blades I do not think you will get the starbursts produced by the straight apeture blades like those in the SMC DA 15.
