Yes.
But only if the red dot gets far off on the edge margins. So far, for my use, It makes little or no practical difference and my use is pretty demanding.
But I have it calibrated for the distance I most use it at which is about 40-50 feet.

On a red dot there is no "eye relief" because there is no active optics in it. Just imagine looking through a hollow tube with a red dot in the middle.
In other words for a red dot both are true - a red dot has no "eye relief" or eye relief is infinite.

This is typical of my "blind".

My default spot when I just want to get out in the woods for the sake of getting out of the damn house and catch what catch can.
I set up here, sit on that fallen tree trunk and just enjoy the neighborhood.
In front of me is a pristine spring fed trout stream and behind me a shallow moss covered ravine which is the source of a spring.
It's ideal habitat for woodland birds and an old nature photographer who just wants to get away from all the BS of ordinary mundane life.

At the magnifications I use, trying to track shy nervous fast moving little birds 1/3 the size of my fist, the scope would be useless without the red dot.

No. Generally I stay within their comfort zone, 30-40 feet, set up my gear and wait. I let my long glass do the heavy lifting.
I never shoot with others nor go bashing through the woods looking for birds - respect them and their environment and they will come.

Of course there's more to it than that and if you want to get deeper into the weeds just ask.

My gear...
