So far I like it a lot. Similar color and contrast to the other DA Limiteds. Plenty sharp to my eye. Bigger than I expected but not a tank. (Unlike the distagon, which is.)

Ha! I had money left from when I sent the DA* 50-135 back. Now I don;t! :-)
If I had known the DA20-40 was going to be available under $700, I would have held off on the Distagon. But sometimes you have to jump on a good deal. :-)

I thought I was past buying old film cameras, and then boom! Two in two weeks. Both bodies likely need a CLA to work, but since I haven't been shooting much film lately I may just display them somehow. Had to clean a little fungus out of the K 28/3.5, but seems in good shape now. Not bad for $90 total!

So it might work on a K-01, then. Hmmm. I read at least one guy on Flickr really likes the lens on his MFT camera. I'll probably flip it to eBay, but it would be nice to try out first.

Thrift store haul, pictured below. The jewel of the lot is the Fujinon-T 100mm 2.8 (m42), quite sharp wide open with nice colors and contrast. And so small! I just modded it tonight to allow stopping down, so we'll see how it really shoots tomorrow. The Rikenon P 50/2 has a great reputation for sharpness wide open, supposedly better than the Pentax 50/1.7s wide open, although I have my doubts about at f/2. The Ricoh pin is nice and smooth, so should present no issues.
Alas, I can't get the Sears/Sekor 55/1.4 to work on a K mount. The ridge of the aperture ring appears to protrude too much. This after a traumatic adjustment to allow manual aperture - at infinity something hits and it stays wide open, but focus in a little and it works like a charm. Supposed to be a great lens as well, but I may not find out. My Mamiya/Sekor 58mm f/1.7 lens has a nice sprinkle of magic in it. I guess I could try it on a little extension.

I had a few surprises today, you gotta' love eBay. The *ist DL I bought for its lens turned out to be a *ist D. I didn't even notice until i was shooting it, thinking "Aren't there only supposed to be 3 focus points? Why is the LCD so small? Why do the AF points light up?" Then, alas, I discovered that the cover for the PC video slot had been broken off, and the built-in flash doesn't work. So much for "like new condition"! But if one doesn't even know the model one has, how much accuracy can be expected?
At least the 16-45 looks good.
