Carolina Wren nest & eggs

every year, this chatty little bird finds a nook or cranny somewhere on the north porch and wedges a nest there - this year, it's a trash can that had a lid slightly askew....
I've raised the container a couple of feet so the dogs are less interested in the nest, but now the trash can is off-limits from its intended duty....

although answered by Des above, no - the quickshift changes nothing for the lenses' sharpness, only the ability to override the AF function...
my shots with the two lenses mentioned above - you'll see that the FA* 300/4.5 wipes the floor with the DA L 55-300 at 300mm:
